Well, I would have to say both. My bed's too small, so I'm on both sides at the same time. :P But, I notice that I sleep on my right side most of the time. I wonder what that means?

Which Side of the Bed?
by simplesally ini can sleep on either side but i prefer the right side.
my first ex husband always insisted we change based on which side was closer to the door.
i'll be the pillow where you lay your head, lay your head.

E-Watchman Provides a Sickening Reminder
by Corvin inmy brief membership to the e-watchman's site was a sickening reminder of the brainwashing and hypocrisy of the wtbts.
through my sources, i have obtained a rare picture of the illusive e-watchman.
why does he look so familiar to me .

The TRUTH for dummies. Chapter 1
by beaker inbeing only newly freed from the wts, there are many people who were my friends that i would like to be able to explain the truth about many of the points raised on this board.
so i have decided to compile a publication that i can mail to them with short succinct, hardhitting reasoning on areas where the wts is misleading them and also areas where they are saying one thing but practising another.
i would like to be able to limit the explanations to one topic per page with the hope that if there is not too much too read they may just bother to read it.

Good luck, beaker. To help you with the cross/stake subject, here's a scripture. Unfortunately, I was not the one that found this out, someone else helped me find it. Hehe. John 20:25. Here, doubting Thomas states that he will not believe the Lord is alive unless he sees proof. He says,"Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails..." Here it is saying that there were more than one nail used to impale Jesus' hands. The WTS teaches that he was on a stake, yet that would only allow one nail. Interesting. :P

Vengeance is mine says God. And Jesus reflects God. So, yes, Jesus would want revenge.
By the way Stefanie, is that a real pic of you? You look a little like Yasmine Bleeth and I got to say Yasmine is HOT!!!

Please Help me with Answers to my Questions.....
by nemo insince joining the board and doing research, i have found out so many things about the organization and feel no longer compelled to preach or go to meetings.
my friends are not taking me missing meetings well, things are not going to be fun.
but this is my decision and i plan to fade away, because of this decision it leaves me with so many unanswered questions...... which bible is viewed as the most accurate?.

Well, I'm glad no one's given answers to Nemo's questions yet. The most helpful answer is to do the research yourself. Being a JW you have that certainty. When a question is brought up that has no answer, we start to worry if its the truth or not and the interesting thing is despite receiving a direct answer we do still get one.
"But what about this question...?"
"Oh, God will take care of it in his own time. Just wait on him."
There was no direct answer to your question, but you still did get one and you can move on with your wonderful life. So, even if you received answers to your questions, Nemo, who says those are right. Didn't you believe that the Society was correct before? Don't take people's word for it. I know how it is to want to be told something as though it is for a certainty. So, that you don't have to worry about life and death, the big mysteries of life. But, one thing that has helped me through this ordeal is that everyone goes through this, that is a part of life. If you want to be happy, than learn to lighten up, take a load off, and don't let these questions get you down. I truly wish the best to you, but don't give up. This is really just the beginning. And be happy with that. :)

A witness should NOT ALLOW their cat to eat a bird!
by gumby inwitnesses believe it would be a transgression against jehovah's sanctity of blood to give your pet a blood transfusion....even though it's an animal, blood is to be poured out on the ground and not used in any manner.
one time, a notable brother who left the borg and was visiting with some friends to encourage them out of the cult, saw the wifes cat eating a bird out the window.
he said "maggie!

Basically, the WTS got themselves in a bind when they answered the pet-blood transfusion question in w64. They say that we can't take blood transfusions so our pets can't. Blood is sacred. Yet, there is no mention of blood transfusions in the Bible. The WTS derives that from the scripture to not be eating blood (taking it in). And yet that's exactly what animals do. Besides, all animals die. They are not included in the provisions of the Ransom Sacrifice. I read that article that Undaunted Danny put the link to. Whoever wrote that, kudos to them. :D I especially liked the part about using your bible trained conscious to take your cat out and stone it. LOL

Another Tom Petty favorite I loved to hear when dealing with the whole ordeal was "I won't back down". That one always lifted me up. Lyrics are mixed but they mentioned these verses
I won't back down
You can stand me at the gates of hell
No, I'll stand my ground
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
There ain't no easy way outWell, I know what's right
I got just one life
And a world that keeps on pushin' me aroundAnother favorite of mine when trying to be independent from others was D.J. D.J. from Transplants
We're gonna make it on our own
We don't need anyone
Lord knows we don't need youIf you feel like rockin' out to a song, there you go

Even if a God did exist, there are no absolutes
by logansrun inthere is no objective standard for right and wrong even if a god did exist.
god's morality is nothing more than an opinion backed up by absolute power.
might does not make right.

You go, girl. LOL. That's pretty much it. Nobody can prove that God exists. They believe it or feel it or have convinced themselves enough to think it. But, you have to start questioning why God is invisible? If he really wants us to know truth and follow him, then let him prove it instead of by riddles. Its a coincidence that Satan, the angels are also invisible. And that miracles don't occur anymore. For once, I would like to see something physically proven.
Other than that, I would have to agree with everyone else here. Nothing is absolute. And it just plain sucks. :P Oh well. Wait, maybe the only thing that is absolute is that nothing is absolute. Hmmm...

In search of Truth - all my life
by Plain and simple ini haven't been a christian, nor a jehovah's witness - i was never convinced of one or the other - because neither added up to what i perceived as "reality" - nor did i see confirmation that they 'were' the one truth/etc in real life.
(i have a brother and brother-in-law who are jehovah's witness, so i know their view all too well, and their inconsistancies, which they choose to ignore) - the more i have learned of jw - the more i have come to hate them even more.
my brother has a mental disability - similarly with my brother-in-law, he has another type of mental illness.

I agree with many things you say. We can never accept something tells us and believe it. We have to see it for ourselves if we are to take it in wholeheartedly. So, how can we even trust in the Bible, or any other holy books if we were never there to experience the events. I am curious about your studies as I am doing my own as well. Here's a question for you, to see if you have an answer with the type of studying your doing. Do you think we will be able to live forever? Do you think its possible? I believe that man made up God because they knew that death was real. And they definitely want to keep living. And there's no way that they want to die, so they've had to create God, to believe that they will live on. Either now or after death. So, with your studies, do you have an answer yet? Or at least some guesses. I would like to hear them. Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Looks like you've seen the light too and want to help others see it. It is very difficult. Like you said, the person won't see it unless they want to see it. I asked my mother a question, hoping that her brain would kick in. What if the truth wasn't the truth? All I wanted from her was to accept the fact that the Society could be wrong. And I asked her if she could even fathom it. She told me that she doesn't think the Society is lying to her. I then asked her what if I had undeniable proof that the Society is not the Truth, could she still even comprehend it? Nope. And, so I feel all ripped up inside, that because I see it so easily now, she can't. She put up this defensive wall that I can't penetrate. And I get so angry that she is holding on to the lies, not because of who she is, but because of what the Society has done. Its a tough time for me, but I realize after reading other people's posts that it takes time. I didn't change over night. It took me a year to finally listen to my doubts and open my eyes. So, I'm going to lovingly wait and ask any questions she has. But keep assuring myself that what I know is right. So, stay in there. And allow your mom to be able to reach you when she wants to. Keep in mind though, that you want to do things on your own term. You're not going to bring yourself down to their level. This is your fight. Peace out.
